Diego Rivera's "Pan American Unity" fresco finally finds a permanent home.

As part of the "Art in Action" exhibit at the Golden Gate International Exposition in 1940, Diego Rivera and his assistants created the enormous "Pan American Unity" fresco in front of a live audience. The fresco is being displayed at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art from June 28, 2021 to March 2024 on Floor One; admission is free to the public.

After this exhibit the twenty-two by seventy-four feet mural with go into storage until it is showcased in its permanent home at the new City College of San Francisco Performing Arts Center.


A one-of-kind case is being created so that the work can be on permanent exhibit. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2025 and is expected to take two years.
