About

Ralph Stackpole created significant sculptures for two world’s fairs in San Francisco: Worship for the altar of the Palace of Fine Arts at the Panama Pacific Exposition in 1915, and Pacifica for the Golden Gate International Exposition in 1939-40.

He also created the impressive statues that still flank the Pacific Stock Exchange in San Francisco, as well as a fresco for Coit Tower and a sculpture for Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s home at Hyde Park, New York.

Respected local historian Bruce Marwick returns to Treasure Island Museum with this presentation that explores Stackpole's legacy, including his unique relationship with Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo.

Marwick's engaging program will be presented live online via Zoom, with a limited number of seats available in the gallery during the broadcast (that can be reserved via Eventbrite).

Email the museum to request the Zoom details/link to use on the morning of the program: officemgr@treasureislandmuseum.org
